As previously reported, because of information received from the Council’s insurers, a decision was made to prevent use of the play equipment, which was extended to the entire playing field because of the Government’s COVID-19 restrictions.

The good news is that the Council has bought some replacement items and councillors have carried out other works to the area in line with the RoSPA report, so the playing field itself is again open.  Unfortunately it will be a while before all of the play equipment will meet the standard expected by our insurers – recent discussions by councillors have centred around the cost of replacement items where needed, how to raise funds for these and what checks have to be in place to comply with COVID-19 ‘rules’.
